The Sneetches is all about two groups of creatures that is being divided simply by a star on the belly. The star belly sneetches was the ones taking control over the best parts of the beach they lived on and the other ones was destined to live as outcasts. One can draw direct lines from real life racism and class division. The reason why this is an allegory is because it wants to teach the reader the lesson of not to be prejudice and to interact with different people even though they are of different races, appearance or sex. Sylvester McMonkey McBean represents the man or leader that takes advantage of the racism, and he end up taking all the sneetches money to the very last dollar before he packs up his stuff and leaves. He has gotten what he came for and did not care how he got it. This can in many ways be compared to the 19 hundreds robber barons, who earned their riches by taking advantage of other people and their labor.
At the end of the story the sneetches comes together in unity, and the lesson learned in the story was partly because of McBean and his machines and when they understood that when they did not know who was what it didnt make a difference.

The hunger game - Final Blog
Now that I finished the book I can't say anything else than how astonished I am over the end. As I progressed towards the end of the book I got more and more excited, and I couldn't wait for the end, to figure out what finally happened. Catniss and Peta both faught for their lives, and they stood together to the very end, offering to both die for each other. The Capitol was now "defeated", their power was lessened and the districts could finally stand together to fight the opposition forcing them to work, for nothing but the capitols well being.
I never saw this end coming. I was expecting Catniss to win, but I also expected Peta to sacrifice himself for her, or something similar to that. But I was wrong, and I honestly like this ending better. The final fight between the three last standing contestants was exciting from the very first moment, and even though I was laying in bed almost sleeping, I could not put the book away just because I wanted to find out what happened next.
It was a thriller of a book. It constantly made me change the views of the characters, and I never really decided who to cheer for before the end gave me a final answer. It is a book I can recommend to everyone, and it doesn't target a specific group of people, because it plays on both emotions and actions. I can with my hand on my chest say, I love this book, and as it is the second book I have ever finished, I would rank it as number one of the two.
I am Christopher Krohn, and Im loving it.

Big question
What are immortality and eternal beauty worth?
As I was reading the book I kept asking myself what it would have been worth, would I want to know when life would end? Or not end at all?
Trade my soul, what makes me, for beauty and immortality? Would I want to lose all emotions, all the parts that forms my personality?
What would be left? An empty body with nothing to offer except a pretty face, a mask that covers nothing, a dark empty space.
What would life be like if everyone was like this?
Dorian Gray sells his soul for exactly these things. Personally I would never want a life with no end, because it is a part of life, of being human. The excitement disappears, the actual feeling that makes every moment worth living for the fullest. In one of my earlier posts I was talking about carpe diem, how you have to grap life and every opportunity as they come, cause you might end up not being able to do any of those things later. I would much rather not know when I would die, because the unknown and mysterious part about life is exactly this, and that is why nothing will go by without giving you a taste of it first.
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
And that is the inspirational quote of today, I am Chris Krohn, and if I had the authority to; I would approve this message.

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, is a poem with imagination, examples are people being possessed by evil, death playing dice with lady nightmare and the spirit from the land of mist and snow, who did not appreciate the killing of the albatross. The poem explores the violation of nature as they kill the albatross and the fate of the crew is being resulted in death for everyone except the Mariner. He lives to tell the tale, and to guide other men in the direction of doing right and not wrong. Individualism is to find in the poem as the Mariner is chosen to be an example of what can happen if you "mess" with mother nature and it's creatures. The typical progression of a romantic poem describes the journey of the "Hero" as he goes from being unaware, to a sort of sad wisdom, often accelerated by supernatural events or characters.

The picture of Dorian Gray
In the first two chapters of the book they have been talking about the good looks of Dorian Gray. The blue eyes, golden hair, and his essence of beauty. So far it hasn't been a lot of story, only the talk between Lord Henry and Basil, the painter. Dorian wants Lord Henry to stay, because he is bored while hes being painted. Basil insists that he does, but recommend Dorian to ignore what Harry has to say because he is usually bad influence on his friends, except himself. As a respond Lord Henry says: To influence someone is to give him one's soul. He does not think his natural thoughts, nor burn with his natural passions. His virtues are not real to him, and his sins, if such exsists, are borrowed. He becomes an echo of someone else's music, an actor of a part that has not been written for him"
And that is also the inspirational message for today.

The Hunger Games Theme
So
I've actually read far enough in this book to specify the theme. The hunger
games are still as capturing as I said in the earlier post, and now, only about
60 pages before the end I can't put it down. It is basically just
an extremely smart book, and I get the feeling that every single
"scene" was deeply analyzed before printing, in order to steal the reader’s
attention and not letting them go before the book was finished. Every time I
put it away, it is because I get pulled away, but the story still remains in my
head, and the questions are being built up until I get to keep on reading.
The theme can in
many ways be compared to the Lord of the rings, because of the main character
being so small and such an unexpected person to overcome
the obstacles she does. The theme of the book is "How unexpected things can be done by unexpected people, and that you can never write a person of, just by their appearance".
Many people might say that I am wrong, that the theme is nothing near what I came up with, to them I say that a theme is not always black and white. People may see themes differently from story to story, because they recognize different things in a story. And the theme of a book can also tell you a story about the readers views of the book. The reason why I say the theme is what I say, is because of the similarities between Frodo and Katniss. They are both being put on a task that initially is too much for them as individuals to handle, but by help of friends they find ways to work it out.
Here is todays inspirational message:"In small things you can find great pleasures."

The Hunger Games
I started listening to the hunger games only two days ago and I just can't put it away. Whenever I have time I sit down, put my ear buds in and turn it on. In the moment I press play it launches me into the future, to a world where Panom is the name of North America, and the states is divided into twelve instead of 50, and called districts. The book takes you into a future after a devastating war. Panom is lead by the capitol, the "superior" district, and after a civil war with one of the districts they decide to show the people of Panom that they don't stand a chance against their superiority. Therefore they arrange a game called "the hunger games", which claims two tributes, a boy and a girl, between the age of 12 and 18, to fight to their deaths as puppets, on the command of the capitol.
Katniss Everdeen, a 16 year old girl volunteers to be tribute instead of her 12 year old sister. The unthinkable has happened and she is one of the two tributes from her district, district twelve. After more than seventy games total, there had only been two winners from district twelve, and the expectations were not high for this year either as she walked up to the stage. As it turns out, things does not seem to go as bad as she expected, she gets both the game makers, the audience and the capitol on her side, and she is the favorite after a presentation of her skill to the game makers. Katniss is also troubled by the male tribute from district twelve, a bakers son, the same age as her, that once saved her life by giving her bread, even though it would cause him a beating. They are being presented as a couple to the audience, and after Peter declares his love to Katniss, she gets furious and ends up pushing him over a pot, which breaks and cuts up his hand.

I am almost half way into the book and the games is about to start. As I am writing this I can't wait to get back to the book because I can't seem to forget about the world of the future. Panom is constantly spinning around my head and I think about possible outcomes of the games, and how the book will evolve. The only thing I can say is that it is the most exciting and thrilling book I have ever read, and I can't help but being mesmerized by how capturing it is.
Peace out! - Chris Krohn

The mummy
So today I started reading a book I never really thought I would. After dwelling whether I would choose a more realistic novel, I ended up choosing this because I have always been dragged towards the mysteries of the unknown, and what is more unknown than two thousand year old mummies?
The book doesn't start very sudden, it explains the setting and to be honest I don't expect much. It has that typical start of a book I normally end up giving up on, or what I like to call it "shelfing". But then again who knows, this for one might surprise me.
